Redirect chain & HTTP status checker

Follow every hop of a URL: 301, 302, 404 or 500 codes, redirect chains and loops, response times, and check that http/https and www lead to the same page.

How it works

Three steps, zero setup

1

Enter the URL

Including old URLs that should redirect.

2

Pick the user-agent

Some sites answer bots differently.

3

Check the chain

Ideal: a single 301 to a 200 page.

Every extra redirect costs time and authority

After a migration or URL change it is easy to end up with redirect chains (A → B → C), temporary redirects instead of permanent ones, or domain variants that never consolidate. All of this slows down users and crawlers and leaks link equity.

The checker shows every hop with status code, destination and timing, can simulate Googlebot, Bingbot or AI crawlers and checks all four http/https and www/non-www variants at once.

Frequently asked questions

For permanent moves always use 301 (or 308): it passes signals to the new URL. 302 is meant for temporary moves.
