Add a site and verify ownership

Add a site and verify it with a meta tag, DNS record, HTML file or the snippet.

Everything in SEOGenio starts with a site. Adding one takes a minute; verifying ownership unlocks the features that read or change private site data.

Add the site

  1. Open Sites › Add site.
  2. Enter the domain (for example www.example.com); the protocol is detected automatically.
  3. Choose country, language and time zone – used as defaults for keywords, audits and reports.
  4. Optionally add industry, description, brand names and main competitors: they power AI visibility tracking and assistant suggestions.

Verify ownership

  • Meta tag – paste the <meta> tag into the home page <head>. Fastest on WordPress and most CMSs.
  • DNS TXT record – add the value shown to your domain DNS. Propagation can take up to 24 hours.
  • HTML file – upload the file shown to the site root.
  • Snippet – installing the SEOGenio snippet verifies the site automatically.

Click Verify now. If it fails, the message explains what was not found. Clear any page cache or CDN cache after adding the tag, and make sure http/www variants redirect to the final home page.
